Librarian

Organisation : Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia

Location : Melbourne (Upwey Victoria)

Time required : Volunteer work can be done either on week days and/or weekends. Hours are flexible but work periods should be 2 hours or more in length per session and can be during business hours or after hours. Total hours per month is negotiable.

About the role

This role will be on-site with flexible hours of your choice.  Your skill in the library card system and cataloguing using the Dewey Decimal System will be highly valued.  Digital library management system experience will be beneficial but not essential.

Our library collection includes about 4,500 texts of which approximately 3,500 have been catalogued and is housed in a library area with good facilities.

The library work is to help complete an online catalogue of the library collection and to catalogue books in our collection. The position includes working with part time volunteer librarians.

Applicants require a driving licence and vehicle.

The organisation is an Associated Institution of the World Buddhist University and has a significant online presence including an online library catalogue.
